transcendent underachiever / cosmic dreamer

Hi, I'm Visa. (Writer. Musician. Atheist. Humanist. Singaporean. Tamil.) I crave knowledge, truth and understanding, connection, gestalt and meaning. I think compassion and thoughtfulness are sexy. I want to play a role in building ourselves a more perfect union. I am here for you, and I love you.

This woman wins the award for the most profound one-liner in HONY history:
“May I take your photo? You look beautiful.”“OK, just make sure you can see the bag.”“Oh, I didn’t realize you were advertising something.”“Isn’t everything beautiful advertising something?”

nice job Shiseido, since you’re a Japanese company
how about next time you get a real Asian person to advertise for you.
and for all you assholes going “WELL ASIAN PEOPLE WEAR JEANS” guess what
we didn’t make a mockery of your cultural wear because you forced us to adopt it. we had to fucking stand by and watch as you imposed your “cultured” Western values on us, laughed at our clothing and our customs and then when it seemed convenient, “edgy” and cool for you you decided to take what belonged to us and use it for your benefit.
WHITE PRIVILEGE ALL OVER and that’s why I fucking hate when white people try to wear traditional Asian clothing.

HONY on my shit list now - wtf.

I have to ask- would it still be as offensive if it were a Hispanic, Black or Indian person wearing the kimono?
